Bring Easter color into your home with this simple but trendy Easter Basket. It would make a great centerpiece for a small kitchen table or could be displayed on a shelf with other Spring themed items. It's just a small bit of color to add to your home for the season.
My mom hand stitched the Easter basket on hand dyed fabric using hand dyed embroidery thread as well as DMC six strand embroidery floss. She then gave it to me with instructions to finish it however I want. I chose to finish the Easter basket as a cube so it could be easily moved or stored in small spaces.
I centered the project on a styrofoam cube and pinned the project in place with dressmaker needles. I used some printed word fabric, that matched the design for the backing. The side band is a bright green gingham fabric with a bright pink ribbon as an accent. I created a bright pink ribbon bow with a bright green gingham knot to tie everything together. Finally, the legs are dark wooden beads and gold beads on a dressmaker pin that were then pushed into the styrofoam. The legs can be easily removed or adjusted as needed.
Size: 3.5 inches wide x 6.5 inches height x 1.25 inches deep
*The Easter Basket was designed by Shepherd's Bush as part of their Easter Trifles pattern. I am not selling the design. It was stitched by Janice Covington and finished by Melinda Dial.
